Dear friends of Silicon Photovoltaics!

Since the beginning of the year, the worldwide crisis caused by the spread of the corona virus has affected each and every one of us. This also influenced everyday scientific life and of course all our conferences and meetings where personal exchange is an important part of.

However, it is really essential to also keep fighting not only the corona virus but also the very dangerous crisis of global warming. Therefore, let us take the current situation as a challenge to continue pushing forward the science and technology of crystalline Si photovoltaics. This can strongly support a faster transformation towards a fully renewable energy system that does not leave anyone behind.

I would be pleased to welcome you in spring 2021 for the 11th International Conference on Silicon Photovoltaics that will be hosted by the Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH) in Germany. The pandemic situation is world-wide still challenging and a definite change to the better until April 19 is not granted. In the meantime, we decided to hold the conference as a pure online event. This decision provides you with a significantly increased planning security and enable us to prepare the online event in a best possible way. 

SiliconPV 2021 will again display the most recent progress for reducing the cost of solar electricity from crystalline silicon PV including research on cell architectures including tandem cells, cell processes, modules, measurement and simulation techniques. Scientists from institutes and companies with global outreach will carefully select the best abstracts to be presented in orals and valued poster sessions. They will also support the review process that makes your valuable contribution being published in a regular journal.

The online-program that we prepare shall have a form very similar to what you appreciated over the last years: We will have scientific presentations, poster sessions, questions and answers. In addition, new opportunities for having social exchange will be explored.

In summary: We invite you to submit leading-edge results to SiliconPV 2021.

There is still a long way to go towards a cleaner world that does not over-exploit the only and last nature mankind has. Your contributions matter. Our contributions as a worldwide scientific community matter.
